I am putting together a best practices document based on many sources of SaaS trials and successes. I have been reflecting on quality implications for SaaS adoption. Some of the major problems I see on large projects are software quality, lack of testing, lack of negative testing and using production to validate code. What a better place to fix these problems then in a cloud base SaaS environment. The simple fact that a developer or tester will have access to a near production environment is a great step forward. So many times I heard 'we don't have access to that system in test, or, our development environments are not the same as production.' Maybe the quality of development and testing results will improve, and I will have fewer topics to review on projects.
