Do you have the latest updates for your Rational products using IBM Installation Manager? If you are still running Installation Manager 1.7.3 or older you may not!

When clicking Update in IBM Installation Manager, it will search the IBM service repositories for product updates hosted on IBM servers (for example: fixpacks). There have been recent changes to the servers to address security vulnerabilities, and as a result, Installation Manager 1.7.3 or older will no longer find product updates. Installation Manager 1.8 or newer works with the updated server.

Chrome enablement may seem to fail consistently even after configuring the enablement settings in IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT).

When you enable the Google Chrome browser through RFT, you would be prompted with following warning messages:
 

• "Java (TM) was blocked because it is out of date" with option "update plug-in" and "Run this time".
• "Java plug-in is needed your permission to run" with option "Run this time" and "Always run on this website"

Solution:
The plugin is likely not correctly enabled for the browser. The steps in the IBM Technote will help guide you to resolving this issue:
