Application Lifecycle Management, also known as ALM, is not a new phrase in software development, but perhaps one with which you are still not entirely familiar. ALM can help improve lifecycle collaboration and software development efficiency. How, you may be asking? Why through diligent application of the five imperatives for ALM, of course!
CM Crossroads has just published an article featuring our Collaborative Lifecycle Management Solution, titled "Five Imperatives of ALM", written by our very own Carolyn Pampino!
Not only does the article detail the benefits of ALM in general, but it also demonstrates how IBM Rational has raised the bar for ALM solutions by articulating five imperatives backed by proof points showing how our integrated product offerings meet those imperatives.
So go on, check out Carolyn's content rich article on CM Crossroads... we hope you enjoy it as much as we have! You can find the article here:
And don't forget to check out our other C/ALM content on the Jazz.net library where we will also publish a .pdf version of Carolyn's Five Imperatives soon! Just point your browser to: http
There, you'll find more great articles like:

Got a good question today and in my best knowledge-sharing fashion, I'm going to share it and my answer with you as well.
Question: We need to onboard several new developers who do not know anything about ClearCase. Do you have a video/presentation that they can see/read that will allow them to connect, check in and check out and perform the basic activities that a developer would do? Thanks!
The following 2 IBM Education Assistant modules (in this order) should be a good start. The first will give the core/basic functionality and the second will provide a set of standardized processes and workflow structure that you may choose to implement.

In lieu of a "Meet the Peeps" post this week (due to vacations, holidays, etcetera) I thought I may wax philosophic for a moment about "community"and building connections.

In this six part demo series on developerWorks, we show you the ins and outs of IBM Rational Solution for Systems and Software Engineering. All six of the articles below will take you to pages on developerWorks from which you can either click to view the demo, or download the video and transcripts for review later or in secure environments.
IBM Rational Solution for Systems and Software Engineering Demo Part 1: Collaboration, Planning and Change Management- In this first demonstration in the lifecycle walkthrough we will show you how to use work item management, project dashboards and lifecycle traceability to deliver greater team collaboration, transparency and improved project over sight.
IBM Rational Solution for Systems and Software Engineering Demo Part 2: Requirements Management- In this demonstration, we will update and test a popular software library downloaded from the internet.
IBM Rational Solution for Systems and Software Engineering Demo Part 3: Quality Management- In this demonstration in the lifecycle walk-through we will show you how to use requirements and model driven quality management to validate system behaviour and verify compliance as early as possible in the lifecycle.
IBM Rational Solution for Systems and Software Engineering Demo Part 4: Architecture Management- In this demonstration in the life cycle walk through we will show you the use of standards based modeling techniques to capture, analyze and design complex systems.
IBM Rational Solution for Systems and Software Engineering Demo Part 5: Embedded Software Development- In this demonstration, we will update and test a popular software library downloaded from the internet.
IBM Rational Solution for Systems and Software Engineering Demo Part 6: Visualise, Analyse and Organise Lifecycle Data (RELM)- We will start inside Rational Team Concert as Susan, our lead systems engineer, and we're working inside the project for the Automated Meter Reader System.

New to your enterprise, want to get accustomed to the Rational Portfolio that your enterprise uses but you do not know how to start?
Who is a Site Technical Contact?
In simple words they are the designated Special Point of Contacts (SPOCs) for your respective organization(s).
3. Enter your contact information and the IBM Site Number. Also, enter the Sales order number if you have it. The Primary Site Technical Contact has this information in the IBM Proof of Entitlement (PoE) certificate.
a) Submitting without a Sales order number will invoke an authorization process for your account. The email response from the Licensing Key Center might not be immediate.
And don't miss the companion post here covering how to generate license keys using the License Key Center.
