ALM a Modern Day Imperative - A Panel Discussion
Webcast date & time: Wednesday, Aug 31, 2011, 3:00 PM ET USA
The tooling for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) has evolved over the years, today it is essential for organizations to competitively build systems and adapt to meet the changes in business demand. The integrated development environment (IDE) has become the collaborative development environment (CDE) and continues to become more powerful each year. These actionable platforms for managing and conducting development are providing real-time intelligence for improved organizational agility
Come hear from our panel, Grady Booch, Carolyn Pampino, and Ken Creager, as they discuss how ALM is evolving and why it is becoming an imperative in today's modern world.
Grady Booch is recognized internationally for his innovative work in software architecture, software engineering, and collaborative development environments.
Carolyn Pampino is the Program Director for Strategic Offerings focused on IT Software. Ken Creager is a software professional with more than 25 years of experience.
What is OSLC and why should you care about it?
Webcast date & time: Tuesday, Sep 13, 2011 11:00 AM, ET USA
You or your organization probably uses multiple tools throughout the software and/or systems engineering lifecycle. You are probably also trying to improve collaboration across roles and teams in that lifecycle. But you're challenged because the tools don't interoperate in a way that makes collaboration smooth and efficient. And when you upgrade a tool, integrations often break. This webcast will discuss these challenges and how Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) is a better way to address them. We'll look at what makes OSLC different from previous industry attempts at interoperability, how OSLC works, who's involved in the OSLC community, and most importantly, how OSLC benefits you as a user, administrator or recommender of tools.

Fostering innovation and efficiency through collaborative change management
Webcast date & time: Tuesday, Sep 20, 2011, 11:00 AM ET USA
Are you aware of a new approach to systems and software development that transforms the way organizations manage change across the life cycle to make it more transparent, flexible and efficient? Please join us for this webcast as we explore how the adoption of an open, uniform approach to commercial systems and software development, as well as the dynamic integration of project management capabilities with change management, can dramatically raise the bar on collaboration and productivity.

Architecting Smarter Banking Solutions with IBM CICS and Rational Tools
Webcast date: Tuesday, June 28, 2011; 11:00 AM ET
Update GRUG on latest CICS and RDz solutions with focus on Banking sector.
Financial institutions are facing tremendous challenges to adapt, yet often have siloed and constrained legacy systems that are not well suited to a world that is flatter, riskier, and smarter. Watch how the New features in CICS and Rational Developer for System z facilitate adapting existing systems to leverage modern SOA, Web 2.0 and mobile technologies, to achieve flexibility and speed development while still maintaining best practice architectural principals. Utilizing these new features can be easy and non-invasive to the existing systems, so you can adapt while maintaining stability and robustness. Come see how new updates from Rational and CICS support implementing.

Collaborative Design Management with Rational Software Architect and Rational Rhapsody
Webcast date: Wednesday, June 29, 2011; 11:00 AM ET
Software and system architecture and designs help resolve the inherent complexity of intelligent, interconnected and instrumented solutions, but there are numerous challenges that go beyond solution complexity. The extended team of subject matter experts is needed to provide insights and feedback on these designs to make sure the solutions meet the right market demands, satisfy customer needs and deliver the expected quality. Everyone from business analysts, stakeholders and other team members need to be involved from the early stages of development. There's also a need to introduce traceability of designs to requirements and work items and ensure the communication and understanding of plans across stakeholders, architects, operations and beyond.
Levering the Jazz foundation for collaboration, Rational's Collaborative Design Management capabilities aim to extend Rational Software Architect (RSA) and Rational Rhapsody to allow you and your teams to search, browse, comment, discuss, and review your designs from both the existing rich clients as well as from a new Web client just for design management. Capabilities for linking the design artifacts to other lifecycle artifacts through Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) interfaces and for visualizing those traceability links are also key reasons a CDM solution is right for organizations facing complexity issues of all types.
Attend this webcast to learn more about these new capabilities and ask questions directly from our leading experts.

Over the past week, and particularly this past weekend, a few new downloads made their way through our tweet stream and Facebook wall. Seeing as these were posted during typically 'off' hours for most of us, we thought it would be of some benefit to highlight those recent releases here, to raise visibility in the case that you may have missed and need one or more of these downloads:
