While working with Rational Software Architect Design Manager (RSA DM) on Linux operating system, you might come across an error "Unable to load diagram" when you are trying to open the diagrams imported using the RSA DM Import engine.
The import of the diagrams may work fine and it could fail to open while you are navigating and trying to double click on the imported diagrams.
Here is a snapshot of one such diagram displaying the error:
This error might occur with multiple users across many diagrams.
At this point, it would be worth it to inspect the rsadm.log and the dm.log files.

You might see the following error in rsadm.log file:
org.eclipse.swt.SWTError: No more handles [gtk_init_check() failed]
The error “SWTError: No more handles" almost always indicates that there is no valid DISPLAY on Linux when running your RSADM server.
To resolve this issue you could refer to this technote. Though it is not for Design Manager, it describes a similar problem for RM converter and the solution should be a similar one.
Once the valid DISPLAY is set you should now be able to open the diagrams without any errors.
