IBM Rational Developer for System Z (RDz) has a powerful search capability which does more than the traditional ISPF one. The drawback in the current RDz releases is that it can consume more CPU as well.
If you are in this situation, technote 1636415 can help.
The technote gives an example on how to customize RDz client to perform a quick search on z/OS. It uses a custom Eclipse plugin together with the z/OS SUPERC command and consumes little CPU.
