T.Rob's first experience with WebSphere MQ was a migration from MQSeries 2.0 to 2.1 back in the mid nineties. Eventually he built a team of administrators who managed several hundred queue managers and supported dozens of production applications and development projects. Along the way he discovered a passion for security and also picked up some experience in clustering, architecture and troubleshooting. After more than a decade as an MQ administrator, he joined IBM's Software Services team as a consultant where he continued to focus on WebSphere MQ and security. With six years of consulting under his belt, he recently joined the WebSphere Connectivity & Integration Product Management team where he continues to focus on security but now has responsibility across the WebSphere Messaging family of products.
T.Rob is a frequent presenter at conferences and seminars where, if you are not careful, he will back you into a corner and demand to know how your MQ security is configured. He still considers himself an MQ administrator at heart and a representative of the user community who happens to work within IBM. He often tells audiences "we finally have mole in the product lab!" When he is not attending events, he meets with customers to help them plan their messaging roadmaps, solve problems and gather any requirements they may have.
