Download the virtual image of IBM MessageSight for developers from the link below,
It also has a video that demonstrates a AutoRemote use case. You can download the application and the source code of this application from the same link.
The MessageSight image that you download from the link above will have a .ova file. You can extract this file either using WinRar or VMPlayer. If you open it with winrar, you will see the below content.
Create a new directory and extract this content to it. Then open the .ovf file using VMPlayer. Click on Open a Virtual Machine, select the path where you have the extracted image, select the .ovf file click on open. You will see the below window.
Select the path where you want to import the image to and click on Import.
You might need to enable the virtualization settings in the machine to run the VM image. For this you need to Reboot the machine, open the Bios settings and enable the virtualization settings (Security > Virtualization ).
If virtualization is not enabled you will get this error, while playing the virtual machine.
When the IMS virtual machine starts you will be prompted to login, login with the userid admin and the password is admin. You will be asked to provide the interface name.
Which interface would you like to configure (default is eth0): eth1
Use DHCP for the Ethernet port (yes/no :default is no): yes - choose 'yes' here
When configuration completes, you will get the URL that you can use to connect to IBM MessageSight WebUI. You can also use the console window to run the MessageSight commands.
Go ahead and get started :)
