MQ V8 comes with an updated version of the MQ Explorer administration tool. In addition to all the regular updates for new MQ features, MQ Explorer has now moved up from being based on Eclipse 3.6 to Eclipse 4.3. There are significant Eclipse changes including a new theme, so MQ Explorer looks a little different, as shown below:
On Windows MQ V8 provides 64-bit queue managers, so when installing MQ Explorer as part of an MQ server installation, it will also be a 64-bit application now. This matches the existing situation on Linux x86_64 platforms, where both the queue managers and MQ Explorer are 64-bit.
But there are other ways to install MQ Explorer! One is from SupportPac MS0T, which provides a standalone installer for just MQ Explorer. This is for when you wish to install MQ Explorer on a client machine (one that doesn't have queue managers), and make remote connections to your queue managers. There are four versions of SupportPac MS0T, for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both Linux and Windows.
