Weblogs.com needs help

The popular weblogs.com site is straining under the pressure of rapidly increasing blog growth. The owner of the site, Dave Winer seems to think that the only solution is writing new code only in C. More bandwidth and a new architecture, regardless of the language used should be able to do the trick. Perhaps a mirroring approach that distributes bandwidth would be best? Afterall, you don't fix a road prone to traffic jams by changing the material the road was made from, you fix it by increasing the size of the road and building alternative routes. Programming language is irrelevant.
