Adam Bosworth's ISCOC04 Talk

I've read through Adam Bosworth's recent weblog post detailing his talk at ISCOC04. There are two issues here. One: I agree 99% with everything he said (I do have a few minor nits). The second issue: I work for IBM. IBM loves complexity because the things our customers want to do are complex. The WS-* specifications have not been developed in a vacuum. They exist for a reason but those reasons simply do not apply equally to everyone everywhere. SOAP-based Web services can be used for little things but quite frankly I highly doubt they will be used for much less than the types of very big things that our customers want to do. I want things to be simple. I want technology to be easier to use. It's OK if it's complex as long as it's easier to use. We're definitely not there yet.
