Update on changes: Rhapsody Design Manager and Rhapsody Model Manager

 

 

As our teams are busy working on the second release of Rhapsody Model Manager, we wanted to provide you with an update on changes that are being made with regard to Rhapsody Design Manager.

In DOORS, there is no timeout feature.  It is also not possible to use the Flexlm timeout (About DOORS license TIMEOUT option).

But it can be implemented in DXL with the "timer" DXL function:

DBE timer( DB dialogBox, int interval, string callBackFunction, string Description)

 

The tricky part is how to determine when was the last action of the user. For that, we can use the DOORS client logging. If the DOORS client log file has not been updated for 1 hour, we can conclude that the session is inactive and we can disconnect the user's session.

 

Find below a sample script that implements a timeout after 60 minutes of inactivity:

In DOORS, there is no auto-save feature but it can be implemented in DXL.

 

 

There is a DXL perm "timer" that can be used to do that. The timer has to be implemented in a dialog box (DB), it will trigger a callback function every time the interval time is reached.

Note JavaSec: IBM highly recommends moving to V6.0.5 of the IBM Watson IoT Continuous Engineering suite of products, due to potential security risks in V5.0.2 and earlier releases of these products. The V5.x releases use IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition v6, which is no longer supported on distributed platforms. As a result there will be no further security fixes made available for it. Support for IBM Java SDK v6 on the System z platform ends in September 2018. V6.0.5 is the first release of the Continuous Engineering suite to use the IBM Java SDK v8, and earlier V6.0 to 6.0.4 releases use the IBM Java SDK v7, both of which are still supported. Data governance in IoT has the same characteristics as data governance in an enterprise, such as data collection, data quality, data storage, data processing, and data consumption. However, IoT solutions need to address a few additional areas in the data lifecycle.
