Starting in 3.5.1 a new BIRT engine was introduced with your TRIRIGA installation. This is BIRT engine version 4.6.0. To customize or create new reports, as well to convert your old BIRT 4.3.1 reports, you need the same Designer version.
This designer runs on Neon Eclipse platform and you might use your current java 1.8 with it (usually on old designer you needed a 1.6 32 bits to make it work).
Also this new version install software is optimized for MAC (in old versions a lot of manual steps were needed) and you can have it as an Application there now. For Windows it remains a folder in the place of your choice.
Another topic often raised is about "upgrading from 4.3.1 to 4.6.0". The fact is you can have both installed in your machine. They are separate install. The caveat here is you can not use the same workspace for the 4.6.0 if you already have a 4.3.1 installed, so you just need to rename the workspace used for the first time.
So let's start with what you need:
For Windows this is a simply zip file, that you can decompress anywhere and you will find the executable inside (eclipse.exe). On the other hand, for Mac it installs as an Application in the appropriate folder.
Once installed, use the instructions in the manual to install TRIRIGA plugins and connect to the database: http

Towards the end of last year, I had the opportunity to sit in on a Maximo Anywhere class. While I am a TRIRIGA Support Engineer, both Maximo and TRIRIGA use the Anywhere platform for their mobile solutions. So for me, there was benefit in sitting in on the class since the process of configuring is the same for either product though the code base will be different! So these tips could apply to either Maximo or TRIRIGA, depending on what you are using. It is worth noting that Maximo has more mobile applications than TRIRIGA. So I would like to share with you some basic tips that I learned in this class.
As shown in the screen above, there is a section called Outline that will, like the UI, view sections of the code. When you click on something in the outline, it will bring you to that section of the code. Which will save you from having to search the code for the correction section. Believe me, I am wishing I used that to help me find the Work Detail View as I ended up putting the new field I was trying to add in the wrong place! But I learned my lesson!
So those are some basic tips when getting started with configuring your Anywhere files. I hope this will help you get around easier when configuring your Mobile solution, be it on Maximo or TRIRIGA. And remember tip #1 and #2 - ALWAYS back up your files! Save early and save often!

IBM is recognized as a cognitive solutions and cloud platform company with one purpose - to be essential to the world.
We do this in part through innovative learning and credentialing programs that help develop and recognize the talent that fuels innovation to change the world. IBM credentials are recognized, respected and valued globally in the IT industry, but communicating your credentials in today’s ever-expanding online marketplace can be challenging.
IBM's Open Badge program represents our latest endeavor for recognizing this talent through secure, verifiable digital credentials representing skill, achievement, and contribution. IBM has established this opportunity so you may easily and quickly share verified proof of your achievement wherever and whenever you choose. Where applicable, your IBM credentials will be represented by a digital image that contains verified metadata describing your qualifications and the rigorous process necessary to earn them. Badges provide digital recognition for skills attained and offer a method of sharing credentials in social media.

Getting started with reporting by using Lifecycle Query Engine data sources in version 6.0.3: You can use the Report Builder in the Jazz Reporting Service to create and run reports about artifacts across projects or versioned data in configurations. Using indexed data from the Lifecycle Query Engine (LQE) data sources, you can, for example: Create a multi-project report that shows test cases, the requirements that they validate, and related defects. You can include designs from Design Manager by editing the SPARQL query in the Advanced section of Report Builder. Run this report, scoping the results by choosing a configuration (stream or baseline). Learn how to set up your environment and understand some of the limitations when you use either the LQE or LQE using Configurations data source. Consider the limitations described here before you use LQE data sources for production reports. If you are interested only in document-style reports, you can export Report Builder reports as Rational Publishing Engine templates to make document authoring easier. [Read more at Jazz.net...]

When reviewing the document, it is best to go through the lists in ascending product version order. For example, if you have Rational Rhapsody 188.8.131.52 and are migrating to version 8.0.3, review the migration issues for 184.108.40.206 on the 7.6 tab and then all the migration issues on the 8.0 tab up to and including version 8.0.3.
