What will you do with IBM Watson?
Ginni Rometty, in announcing the Watson Mobile Developer Challenge this past February, issued a simple challenge: what will you do with Watson?
An enthusiastic response met the challenge, with more that 400 proposals submitted, covering many different areas – education, healthcare, retail, and physical fitness, to name just a few. From the 400 proposals, 25 teams were invited to use the Watson developer cloud to create a prototype in a week – certainly long enough for those embracing agile development techniques to get the job done on the Watson developer cloud.
From the twenty-five prototypes created, five semi-finalists were selected to present their proposals and business case to a team of IBM judges. The judges had five very strong entries to review, and was finally able to select three of the five as the winners of the Watson Mobile developer challenge. The three winners, listed in no particular order, are:
GenieMD, Inc. @GenieMD
Majestyk Apps @MajestykApps
Red Ant @Red_Ant
“The ultimate sales trainer” that analyzes a customer’s demographics, purchase history and wish list, as well as product information, local pricing, customer reviews and tech specs to provide the seller customized selling points unique to that customer onscreen or via text-to-speech on an earpiece.
Be sure to visit the IBM Watson display in the Solutions Hall to learn more about the three winning proposals and to begin deciding how you can change the world with IBM Watson.
