Introducing the IBM Rational 2012 Spring Products and Services Launch

IBM clients know better than anyone that software and systems delivery is a rapidly changing landscape. Whether your job is in IT, or in the product & systems arena, software development is constantly impacted by new application delivery models like cloud, proliferating mobile end-point devices, shrinking delivery windows, and the blurring of organizational boundaries.
So the question is, how can software and systems delivery teams ride the new technology waves of mobile, cloud, social business, etc., and turn these thorny challenges into business advantages?

We just announced new integrations and collaborative capabilities that help clients optimize their software and systems delivery across the application and product lifecycle. These announcements offer two distinct sets of capabilities for IT teams and product & systems teams:

Both IT and systems teams need a well-managed software development lifecycle that supports the needs of operations and line-of-business (LOB) teams who, in turn, interact with customers in a continuous business cycle. So a big part of this announcement is that IBM Rational is tightening the integration between LOB, development, and operations teams through extended lifecycle management, which covers different horizontal vectors into mobile and cloud areas and takes advantage of a growing ecosystem with partners.
Concentric circles of capability
Note the concentric circles in the illustration below, which illustrate the essence of our announcement. We’re integrating at the core, at the development lifecycle; expanding lifecycle management to embrace the bigger picture -- think DevOps and mobile; and in the outter ring we’re enriching the ecosystem in which all these activities occur, by helping with skills and partner expertise.
