Enterprise Architecture and Project Portfolio Management: A Winning Combination
Enterprise Architecture + Project Portfolio Management = Winning
What are the strategic goals and objectives of the organization? What products, services, applications are there to support ? Where should the spending of precious resources take place? Where are we going - what are our options and how and when will we get there?
These are questions every organization has to ask themselves….if they can be answered you are in a good position! But that is not usually the case…
Businesses have, and are still, investing significant amounts in order to provide better management of an IT function. EA and PPM are the primary capabilities that have established themselves as a way to assist with strategic level decision making - but both have grown up as separate disciplines, serving different communities.
Will closer collaboration, and possibly convergence, between Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) within an organisation help overcome challenges in each area and will it provide increased levels of management insight? And are there technical solutions in place today to support this way of thinking?
Do you have the answer? If not listen to what IDC and IBM has to say about it here.
