Don’t waste time with meetings
Sometimes, getting started is the toughest thing to do. Most of my clients say they first need some level of consensus. For most clients, it’s a higher priority to define practice improvements and plan their adoption than to spend a lot of time analyzing and documenting their problems. And that makes sense! At the same time you need to know where you currently are to lay out a pathway to improvements. And for those whose job it is to implement change, the assessment of current practices needs to be concrete enough for them to plan and implement that change. DevOps Practices Self Assessment
To help you assess your current DevOps practices and quickly move to planning improvements, you can now use the IBM
Personalize your assessment
The assessment incorporates the four adoption paths and provides a menu selection of DevOps practices you can use to refine your assessment. Select only those practices relevant to your goals and interests and the assessment will walk you through a series of questions with simple responses.
Collaborate for a more realistic assessment
The assessment will allow you to return multiple times, giving your development, operations, testing or other organizations the opportunity to weigh in on their point of view. Or you can perform multiple assessments in parallel for different initiatives. In either case, using the assessment tool can help you to get on the same page and start planning your improvements quicker!
After you have completed the assessment questions, you will be presented a view of your current proficiency levels based on our DevOps practice proficiency model. You will also receive recommendations for potential practice improvement solutions aligned to your interests. These solution patterns are based on recent IBM experiences with clients worldwide who are solving similar problems or driving the same DevOps practice improvements. Of course, you can also discuss the solutions in more detail with your IBM representative.
Leverage IBM’s experience
When you use the self-assessment tool, enter in your IBM representatives’ email addresses in addition to your own, and a copy of the results will be forwarded to them. You can then meet to review your assessment responses and proficiency level results, discuss your improvement goals and plan your DevOps improvements.
