DevOps and cloud: Video Series Part 4 – IBM UrbanCode Deploy key concepts
In this video series we explain the notion of a DevOps continuous delivery pipeline and its relationship to cloud technology. As indicated in the introduction we have split the DevOps end-to-end scenario into seven distinct sections, each aligned with a specific part of the overall flow captured in a video.
This fourth video highlights some key concepts of the IBM UrbanCode Deploy deployment automation solution. Since it plays a key role in the overall end-to-end scenario we thought it would be helpful to give you some background of the concepts behind it—all in the context of the claiming application.
The following diagram reflects the parts of the end-to-end scenario that are covered in this section:
The deployment automation component is key to the end-to-end DevOps scenario because it integrates build, deployment and test automation (and also integrates with cloud technologies in order to automatically provision the required infrastructure stack before deploying the application itself). So we thought it would be helpful to explain some of the core concepts in some more detail. We specifically explain—all in the context of the claiming appl
Please check out the video, in which you’ll also find callouts to further explain what you see:
Part 5 will explain the integration of the test automation solution into the context of the deployment process.
