DevOps at O’Reilly Velocity Conference 2017
This summer there are quite a few developer focused events lined up and one such event happening next week is O’Reilly Velocity conference at San Jose, CA on June 19 – 22. This event offers a great platform to network with your peers who are doing amazing things on engineering, performance, operations and DevOps. DevOps is one of the major focus areas in this conference and there are various tutorials, sessions and keynotes that cover the topic in detail.
With so much happening at the event this year, here is what you should add to your agenda right away whether you are seasoned DevOps practitioner or just begun your journey on the DevOps path
1) Session: Transform organizational culture for DevOps success with Eric Minick:
Eric Minick, is responsible for leading the product management team that oversees the IBM UrbanCode suite. He is also one of the authors of Application Release and Deployment for Dummies. During this session, he will explain how high-performing organizations have embraced culture change, as well as the impact on organizations that haven’t. An organization’s ability to adopt a DevOps approach for software delivery often hinges on a cultural transformation that may be more difficult than technology issues. The keys to success are change supported from the top down combined with people on the front line who are willing to experiment, fail fast, continuously learn, and openly collaborate in a blameless and fun working environment. When done right, the result is a renewed level of trust between the people involved and the organization they work for. If you're thinking about embarking on your own DevOps journey, remember—culture is key. This session is scheduled at 4:35pm–5:15pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Click here to add to your schedule.
2) Stop by the DevOps booth #601 in the exhibit hall to meet our experts and to learn more about continuous deployment, continuous testing and continuous availability. Also, grab your copy of these Dummies books covering DevOps, Application Release & Deployment, and Application Monitoring.
