Around 10 years ago, many organizations were looking to knowledge management to help employees leverage the intellectual capital of an organization. Now, with the latest developments in social business (the application of social networking in a business context), businesses are able to overcome some of the issues of rigidity and lack of engagement with knowledge management systems.
So says Lim Swee Cheang, CEO of the Institute of Systems Science at the National University of Singapore, in conversation with Mark Hanny, IBM VP of Ecosystem Development. The ISS has created a Center of Excellence to help create a smarter workforce: one that is closer to the customer and uses technology to increase productivity.
