Go from “what” to “why” with Analytics and Smarter Commerce

You gotta love the “why” kids.
We all know them and many of us have them in our own houses – I do. They won’t rest when you have graciously shared (sometimes declared) good answers based on your decades of learning and life experience. They always want to know more and definitely want to know “why”.
They have the makings of great Chief Analytics Officers some day.
Today, developing and applying new algorithms and technology can make getting to the bottom of the “why” questions a very quick and profitable action.
Confused.com (@Confused_com) knew “what” was happening – they could see that visitors were abandoning their searches on the very first page of the quote process for both home and car insurance. Technology enabled them to see this happening and even calculate the rates at which it was happening – more valuable “what” information.
Working with IBM Tealeaf (@tealeaf) they applied new analytics to determine “why” it was happening and very quickly apply a pretty simple fix. Now these same customers are easily able to move on and expected conversion rates are quickly being achieved from visitors who are going to that registration page. Read the full story here http
