No matter how we try to plumb the depths of our IBM Champions' expertise, we keep finding Champions know more, are learning more, and are teaching on more topics than we could possibly imagine. Topics range through the full host of IBM products and offerings, to strategy, to open technology, data, security, collaboration, servers, serverless, cognitive, cloud, security, blockchain... the list goes on and on.
In fact, the only thing that's missing sometimes is the opportunity to share and absorb that knowledge—for Champions to teach and for the entire community to benefit from their insatiable curiosity!
Champion Expertise Presentations
In an effort to solve this dilemma, lifetime IBM
Gab has dubbed this idea the Champion Expertise Presentations.
Once per month, the IBM Champions will publish presentations around a particular broad topic; think: security, tech predictions, open technology. Those presentations will provide broad coverage of the topic, and may range through any product or technology that interests the Champions, at any level of skill.
Why this project?
For Champions, look at it as an opportunity to share your expertise, show your skills and breadth of knowledge, and have your content promoted by IBM.
For the larger community, this is an opportunity not only to benefit from the Champions' expertise but also to simulate the excitement that surrounds a conference or event. Conferences and presentation content invigorate a community by stimulating discussions around topics and increasing interest in learning and then that (hopefully) vibrant community will in turn drive traffic to all kinds of online and in person content and events.
How does it work?
On The Day, all the content will be published. You'll be able to find it all easily because we'll publish a blog telling you all of the great content you can expect and where to find it.
To create that blog, as Champions decide what they want to contribute, they'll share what they plan to publish, with a summary of what someone would learn by watching. I'll collect those descriptions and links and collate them into a single blog you can use to direct your exploration.
Think of it like getting to attend a giant free user group conference once per month with content from some of the best minds working with IBM technology...and if you're not free on that day that all the presentations were recorded and you can access them immediately.
For Community Members & Those Interested to Learn
Your next steps are easy. Come back to this blog in January to look for the list of presentations around the topic of tech predictions and futures for 2018. Then on January 23: explore and learn with the Champions and join the conversation. Then repeat throughout the year. If you have topic suggestions that you'd like to hear from the Champions on, leave a comment!
