OK, I have logging working to my satisfaction. Granted this was a bit of an annoyance due to the way Eclipse handles the run time classloader, but with the help of a nifty article on EclipseZone from Ed Burnette (http://www.eclipsezone.com/eclipse/forums/m91974076.html) I was able to get things working nicely.
Now on to trouble. I'm man enough to admit when I'm faced with a problem - to whit - how in the heck do I load a perspective in one plug-in from another? Looks simple enough, register the dependent perspective as an extension, then call the Window.openWindow() method with the perspective ID (oh yeah, also remember to add the plug in to the run time configuration so it can be found - discovered that gem during the fiasco with logging where I kept getting 'bundle not found' errors at run-time - ugh :-) ). Sure and the tooth fairy will leave me a stimulus check for my missing second molar (another boring and painful story). All I get is the message to to the effect that an error happened loading the perspective and nothing more.
Anyone got some pointers on loading a perspective in one plug in from another?
