Unread status messages in Gentran Application mailbox - Gentran:Server for Windows

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Unread status messages in Gentran Application mailbox - Gentran:Server for Windows

Body

Unread status messages in Gentran Application mailbox.

In an example scenario in which, following a restart of the services, new messages are now populating with a status of Read in Gentran Application mailbox Inbox, is there a way of reprocessing the x number of messages that currently have a status of Unread?
In Process Control, manually execute the system event System-MBRecovery; you may need to execute it multiple times to finish processing all Unread status messages in Gentran Application mailbox Inbox. To use Process Control system event System-MBRecovery, a minimum of patch 2 on GSW version 5.3.1 is required.

See latest 5.3.1 PATCH RELEASE NOTES:
There is a new enhancement that extends the Inbound/Outbound Recovery process that normally runs every time the Gentran Executive service starts up.

(1) Added a new Process Control system event (System-MBRecovery) that executes the recovery process daily.
(2) Added the option to set an upper limit to the number of mailbox messages that can be recovered in a session or at service startup.
(3) Added the option to disable recovery at service startup.  The new recovery unattend event can also be disabled.
(4) Added a new tab (Recovery) to the System Configuration app that has these new settings for recovery at service startup.
The settings for the recovery unattend event are configured in Process Control.
