Data manager post processing script fails to run - Gentran:Server for UNIX

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Data manager post processing script fails to run - Gentran:Server for UNIX

Body

Problem
A data manager post processing script fails to run.

Symptom
The post processing script for data manager fil1 fails to run.

Server script.l log file reflects smgr -s | batch
Error: scriptname: 0:07272018:143227: 0:/gentran/bin/smgr -sscriptname | batch
$EDI_ROOT/script/script.l is not appended to $EDI_ROOT/script/script.old

Cause
The Gentran user id that starts the data managers, is not listed in /var/adm/cron/at.allow nor in /var/adm/cron/cron.allow files (at.allow and cron.allow files).
Note: The Gentran user id that starts the data managers should NOT be listed in the /var/adm/cron/cron.deny nor in /var/adm/cron/at.deny files.

Resolving The Problem
Add the Gentran user id that starts the data managers to at.allow and cron.allow files; subsequently the data manager post processing script runs without error.
Note: In the .allow files, list one user name per line.
