Does your boss keep nagging you about the cloud computing buzz? Or are you interested in the field but don't know where to begin? In my opinion there are two ways (let me know if you are aware of others) to develop an expertise on the subject. You can start playing with the different cloud computing tools that your company offers and learn as you go. But frankly, rare are the bosses that allow you the liberty and a blank cheque to do R&D on your own. It reflects a certain level of credibility, and credibility is essential when talking to IT management, especially for IT consultants. Not to mention that it gives you a recognized differentiators from your competitors.
