As I look through my stained car window, I see another dude, we exchange smiles, and we are both thinking exactly the same thing. “Is driving in crowed roads all that necessary”? I look around, and everyone is either trying to reach home sooner, or do something productive while driving.
Some get a driver, listen to music and others do meetings. How often have we see people use their electric shave, while driving. And who can forget Govinda rinsing his mouth with the wiper blade water after brushing his teeth in his car.
Very soon you realize that 24 hours is just not enough. Optimizing your time is utmost important.
All said and done, travel is a necessary evil. And we all need to travel, to grow, enjoy or to just perform our duties.
This is how mCruiseOn started. We asked ourself,
What can we do about this vehicular traffic?
Or an even better question is
Why are the existing systems to make travel easier just not working?
So we started to research on what companies, people and startups are doing to battle this problem. We found that there were atleast a dozen of ideas that people have been working on. Infact all of them so unique that they can all grow and survive without too much competition.
Think about it. A person starts to travel in a cab, he would never shift to a shared car. The other way is also true. Once a person starts to share a vehicle, you cant get him to use a cab, or a bus.
So, we asked ourselves a deeper question.
Why are these companies, startups and people not able to build a scalable, reliable, easy to use, highly responsive and cheap solution to carpooling, sharing a cab, hitch hike’ing, share a bike?
Then we wondered, how mobile applications become so famous starting 2005. Well, Android was released. Apple realized that they needed to get a competing framework out there to developers to keep iOS alive and kicking. So iOS improved their SDK, thread support and much more.
The missing link was found, FRAMEWORKS.
Give a developer a good FRAMEWORK, and he will build something revolutionary.
For those of you who don’t believe me, that is exactly what IBM, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Amazon (with EC2) do. They give wonderful frameworks to developers to build products around it with.
We @ mCruiseOn build software frameworks to enable developers to solve complex challenges in various ways, as demanded by their business leaders. The first problem we promise to solve is Car Pooling.
You could build car pool for
- Public Website, get people to socialize (carpooling.com)
- Closed Website, for employee’s only (I feel safe to travel with a co-worker, rather than a stranger)
- Smart Phone applications (Apple, Android, Windows, Blackberry)
- Cab Services, (would Meru be around without technology supporting it?)
For the technology savy folks, we offer a cloud based PAAS service with a client library. Doesn’t cost you a cent, from hello world to release. Visit www.mcruiseon.com to get more. Do share your feedback with firstname.lastname@example.org
