In a previous blog entry titled What does IBM really mean when it says "Power Linux"?, I attempted to explain that by "Power Linux" we mean all Linux distributions which run on Power Systems, i.e. the various versions of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for POWER.
If you're following the recent PowerLinux announcement closely, you'll notice that "Power Linux" has now become "PowerLinux". Perhaps you might think we have a typo in our announcement, but the reality is that there is a method to our madness. "PowerLinux" is our new brand. With this, we're unifying not only our software work with our distribution partners, but also our solutions, servers, and all the components of this new initiative.
So, do not worry. We have not made a huge typo in our marketing literature, nor do you have to "buy a space" . It is still the same old Linux you have come to know on Power Systems and a new initiative aimed at specific solutions for our customers. Learn more about us at the IBM PowerLinux portal.
