Want to know how to contribute to the Linux on Power Community? Let me help you find your way.
The first step is to become a member of the community. Simply click Sign in (or Register) in the upper right of the page. All you need is a valid email address. Then select to Join the community. You must join in order to post questions or news. If you choose not to join the community, you can still have a look around.
The most common way to contribute is to ask a question. Questions are posted in the forum. We suggest that you search the community first or take a look at the FAQ for Linux on Power to see our list of most commonly asked questions. To ask a question, simply log into the community and then select Forums from the left side menu. From the Forums page, click Start a Topic. Enter a descriptive title and your text in the field provided and click Save. If you are unsure about using the Rich text editor, see this topic: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.lotus.connections.common.help/eucommon_ckeditor.html You can add tags, such as powerkvm, to your topic and select to post in a specific forum from the list. You can even attach a file if needed.
After you ask a question or discussion point on the message board, your question is forwarded to the Linux on Power development team. In many cases, we will point you to existing function or documentation that will help with your question. In other cases, your questions or discussion points make us aware of additional requirement for the Linux on Power.
Our blog area is for news and other announcement type information. To submit a blog, select New Entry from the Blog Action menu. You can copy and paste from most text editors. You can submit content on a wide variety of areas; we only ask that your content is relevant to Linux on Power or OpenPower systems. After you submit your blog entry, the content is reviewed and either approved and published or rejected with a response as to why it was rejected.
I hope that this information helps you on your way to contributing!
