Last week I stumbled across an interesting case I wanted to share with you.
One of my customers ran a REST query to select certain BPD instance details in their TEST environment, which resulted in the following error:
[11/09/15 11:17:10:274 CET] 00000060 PivotTableUti E pivot column not found for alias=My_subject and type=String
The same query worked in their DEV environment and they were puzzled why it did not work in DEV.
Now what actually is a pivot table in BPM?
The pivot tables were introduced in 220.127.116.11 as part of JR42110 to accelerate saved searches. It is also included in 18.104.22.168.
Please find the details here:
Now, in this case here, when the new version of the Process Application was deployed to TEST, the pivot table was not dropped and recreated, hence it was out of synch.
This could be easily fixed by dropping and recreating the tables.
You will find the steps to drop the tables in the link above, and additional details in our Knowledge Center here:
So if you come across this error, remember to drop and recreate your pivot tables.
And if that does not help, take two of these and call me in the morning.
