The Bryan brothers just missed winning a rare Grand Slam when they lost the doubles tennis competition at the US Open. The last doubles team to win four Majors in one calendar year did so in 1951. In the technology world, IBM has earned a rare Grand Slam by being positioned as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrants for four reports around clients' mobile, cloud and application integration initiatives.
As the number of devices and sensors grow into the billions, organizations are embarking on these initiatives as the way to establish competitive advantage by mining the Internet of Things. To facilitate client success, IBM provides a single software portfolio that enables organizations to create mobile and cloud-based apps, and integrate them with on-premises applications and back-office systems.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant reports include the following solution areas:
- On-Premises Application Platforms

- Mobile Application Development Platforms
How to meet your application challenges
The Bryan brothers, who happen to be twins, move around the tennis court in a very synchronized, fast and flexible fashion. This is just how you'd want your business to operate, but organizations have some daunting application challenges to overcome. Not only are you building traditional, on-premises applications, but you also want to take many of these applications to the cloud. In addition, you want to build new cloud-born applications and new mobile applications. All of these applications need to work together from front-end systems of engagement to back-end business systems.
The measure of success is when your organization can provide seamless service based on consistent data to customers, partners and employees wanting to interact with you on their preferred platform. The following leadership solutions can help you hit that sweet spot. They are organized by the four Gartner Magic Quadrant reports that assess them. Read about some client implementations and learn about new and enhanced offerings introduced this fall at the IBM InterConnect event in Singapore and other industry events.
