Abstract

ICM Case List Column Customization

Body

Here's a little tip that you may not have found yet.

When you do a search for cases, the columns in the Case List, by default, display a set of well known system properties that exist on all cases. This is the same set that is displayed in the Case Summary panel of the Case Information widget when you have not specified anything different in Case Builder / Case Types / Views.

When you do modify the summary view to show a more meaningful selection of property values, wouldn't it be nice if that same set could be displayed in the Case List columns?

Of course it would, and here's how!

Head into Case Builder and open your Cases page in the Page Designer. Show the settings for the Search widget and click the checkbox to include properties from the summary view.

What this will do is create a union of the summary properties if multiple case types are searched. For solutions with a single case type, the columns will match your summary view with the addition of the Case ID and the property you search on.

Give this a go and let your users think you worked away all weekend to make their solution a little bit better.
