Hi, Instructors! Our course development team has documented a plan for how we would enable you on new materials. We have shared that plan with the GTP management last year, but it may be that plan is not getting to you, so I have posted the plan on this community.
Some clarifications of TLAs (Two-or-Three Letter Acronyms) found in the plan:
- CMV - Course Materials Vault - there are specific individuals within each GTP who have access to the CMV, and they will then provide materials out to their constituents, including you, their instructors.
- EPT - Education Planning & Tracking database - an internal database that we use to track projects during course development.
- T3 - Teach the Teachers - sessions where the course developer teaches the material to enable instructors to teach content that is new or has major updates.
From the course development team, we want to provide resources to help you to get up-to-speed on teaching new and/or updated content. We will evaluate what kind of enablement is required based on the type of changes being done on the course. We will schedule the T3 and provide that information to our "brand focal" who will communicate it to the GTPs. We will also post the schedule in the course information here in the Instructor Community. Each GTP will be allocated seats for each T3; if you want to attend it "live", contact your GTP. After the T3 is completed, recordings will be posted in the CMV for your review.
I hope this helps in your understanding of what we have committed to do, and that you will help to keep us honest in our communication. We are trying to balance the time spent on T3s versus time spent on course development (it would be "nice" to do more T3s, but then we would not have any course updates!). Our ultimate goal is to ensure your success, so if you have thoughts on how to improve our process, please comment!
