What is ITV Media Network?
The ITV Media Network is a news company based in India, comprising online and newspaper publications, as well as TV news channels.
Sharma launched this news network back in 2007, with the 24-hour Hindi channel India News as its centerpiece. Then, in 2012, Sharma obtained NewsX, an English-language channel which operates round the clock. Currently, this is the only free-to-air English news channel in India and has won multiple international awards.
Sharma has also been instrumental in bringing several media businesses under the ITV Network umbrella, including the Hindi newspaper Aaj Samaaj (established in 2007), and the English-language weekly The Sunday Guardian (launched in 2010).
Overall, Sharma’s ITV Media Network consists of two online portals, two newspapers, five regional news channels, and three national news channels. Moreover, the company employs 2,025 individuals in several bureaus and offices across India. These accomplishments can be credited to the owner’s enthusiasm and his commitment towards his work, and they are evidence of his capability for expanding his businesses progressively.
Pro Wrestling League
Kartikeya Sharma set up ProSportify, a sporting enterprise, in 2015. The main goal of this project is to provide a global platform to Indian athletics and sport persons. ProSportify aims to encourage all athletes to pursue their dreams.
Kartikeya Sharma’s ProSportify, in association with India’s Wrestling Federation, introduced the Pro Wrestling League (PWL). The tournament includes six franchise teams which have nine players each, four girls and five boys. The PWLis similar in stature to the Indian Premier League, a globally known cricketing event. But while wrestling is not as popular as cricket, the Pro Wrestling League, in its two wonderful seasons, has achieved more for the sport than any other forum in recent history.
ITV Network to Launch World’s First Artificial Intelligence Voice Assistant in its NewsX Studio
A few days ago, ITV Network announced the launch of NewsX AI, the first ever integrated voice assistant to be used in a news studio.
All NewsX studios will have an integrated SVA (Studio Voice Assistant) that can be utilized for everyday programming. Moreover, the SVA will add value to the coverage of some big news events ahead, like the 2019 General Elections, by incorporating data analysis and fact-checking modules in live broadcasts.
The SVA has also been directly linked with the PCR system in order to simultaneously offer video or audio output live on air. The SVA’s output has been improved with holographic information projections as well, for graphical visualization (on-screen) of the information given by the Studio Voice Assistant.
“ITV Network is always committed to its viewers, customers and partners to innovate best practices and introduce future technologies to improve viewer experience, interactivity, and access, NewsX AI Studio Voice Assistant (SVA) is definitely being a giant leap into the cutting edge of the future of live newscasting”, Kartikeya Sharma said.
What’s more, the voice assistant will be programmed to answer questions directed to it, based on an IFTTT algorithm. For this, myriads of data points will be programmed, compiled and tabulated to the SVA.
With regard to the privacy and security of studio visits, the AI assistant won’t maintain an automated record of studio conferences. Instead, it will maintain a record of questions which asked and answered.

The Success of NewsX
Kartikeya Sharma revealed that he doesn’t have a success formula. “I remembered when we acquired NewsX, a friend asked me, ‘what will you do with it?’ I told him, I’ll write a cheque of Rs 100 core and you’ll tell me the success formula. There’s no success formula in this medium but there are certain fundamental factors”, Sharma said.
Moreover, the company has brought the focus back on news. “Which is what a news channel should be doing? We have done our work honestly”, he added.
Entrepreneur Kartikeya Sharma is one of the most influential and youngest media tycoons in India. Undeniably, his devotion and, more importantly, his knowledge has contributed to ITV Media Network’s success and made it the fastest growing news company in India today.
With this enterprise, Sharma has focused on offering real news, in keeping with the highest international standards, while maintaining an unbiased attitude in newsrooms.
The team led by Sharma considers each objective to be a journey. Though there can be many challenges on the way, the destination is what makes the entire experience more rewarding.
