Wow, this year is flying by. I can't believe it's April already! This is usually a great month here in Massachusetts as all of the plants wake from their winter slumber. The Littleton campus is also looking forward to the annual Sons and Daughters Day where we are visited by our colleagues' children who come to learn about technology and related careers.
This week we bring you some great cloud content and a chance to learn more about your favorite developerWorks Rational authors.

By: Grace Walker, IT Consultant, Walker Automated Services
Agility, scalability, and profitability are driving enterprises toward cloud computing. This is a response to the ever-changing economic, financial, and technical developments confronting business entities today. These changes demand new ways of thinking, working, and doing business. The development of the hybrid cloud is based in this new reality. Part 1 of this two-part series looks at the hybrid cloud, the services it makes available, and the new business paradigm it has engendered.
Behind the scenes with developerWorks authors
In our new Roll Call question-and-answer series in the IBM Rational Community, we ask one author each week a few questions and post responses. It's a quick, fun way to learn about and learn from your peers.
We are pleased to feature Contributing Author Dr. Mattia Parigiani
Mattia Parigiani lives in colorful Guadalajara, where he is team lead for the Rational Application Developer build utility in the IBM México Software Laboratory. When not planning or designing component-specific customizations to meet customer requests or when not working on L3 level customer support, he investigates integrations and innovations for Rational software, improves the internal team-related processes and knowledge bases, or collaborates with other teams on their support, testing, and development processes. Mattia speaks five languages, including Swahili, and he enjoys writing, both technical and non-technical.
