As part of the UAE Innovation week, IBM kicked off the Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) in Dubai on November 26.
GCTC is a collaborative network of project teams, or “Action Clusters” working on groundbreaking Internet of Things (IoT) applications within the smart city/community environment. Entrepreneurs, students, professors, developers, Marketers and IT professionals, all gathered at this event with one purpose - innovating to solve city challenges.
During the event IBM team showcased simple ideas that matter for better quality of life and how IBM Bluemix enables ideas to come to live in hours and days - not months and years.
Two students captured the audience's attention showing how they taught themselves IBM Bluemix and created a 'smart fussball' through the use of IoT , Rasberry Pi and IBM Bluemix.
