Finally I could get sometime to blog after settling down into the new year and a good vacation! It was great to participate at the Indian Science Congress and glad that our sessions went on well as planned. I'm posting here some photos of the event, covering Dr C Mohan's participation at four different tracks. The co-panelists and the audience of Bio-informatics (For the first time in the history of Indian Science Congress, a track on Bio-Informatics was held) track got a good glimpse of the kind of work that IBM is doing at Computational Biology Center under IBM Research. One of my next steps is to link the research work being pursued by Dr Allam Appa Rao Prof in Bio-informatics and Principal of College of Engineering(Autonomous), Andhra University and his research team with Computational Biology Center.
This was followed by a session on Women Scientist sensitization program, which was briefly covered in the Bay news under the title Unique workshop for women scientists and the address given by him at the Children Scicence Congress was very inspiring to the children and was covered very well in the city edition of The Hindu here. He stressed on the need to remain technical and be passionate in your career and still can make a big difference to your organization. The best part which I liked is, Dr Mohan surrounded by children after his talk for a photo and autograph. Finally we could get sometime to attend other tracks and network.
