When we talk to customers about z/OS Explorer and CICS Explorer we get a lot of positive vibes. There's talk of how it can help their teams, how it can simplify some of their tasks, and sometimes how they want to extend it with plug-ins they already use.
When we get onto discussing how it can be deployed to their teams, the concepts sound good in theory but we've seen that people of get confused, in practice. This is compounded because of the large number of ways it can be installed (to cater for the difference needs of different enterprises).
To help demystify the installation options, we've been working on a Redpaper that will help explain the different ways that the Explorer products can be installed, and how each mechanism could fit into a strategy to roll out to multiple users. In addition we cover some more detailed topics such as unattended/headless installations and rolling out customizations to your users.
The Redpaper is in draft right now, do have a read and pass back your comments.
