Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) provides a fully convergent charging and billing system to manage the entire revenue management lifecycle. Oracle BRM is part of the Oracle Communications portfolio of products.
Oracle BRM runs natively on some operating systems, such as Linux® and IBM’s AIX®. Oracle Billing and Revenue Management can also be deployed on Linux on System z® servers in a mixed architecture mode, also known as “split-tier configuration”. The Oracle database tier is certified to run on Linux on System z servers. In this case, the Oracle Database will be running on the IBM System z and the application tier will host the BRM code.
The Oracle Billing and Revenue Management applications can run on a middle tier platform under AIX, for example on a zEnterprise® BladeCenter® Extension (zBX) node, an IBM Power System™ server or a PureFlex™ System compute node, or on an Intel x86 server running Linux or Windows®, such as an IBM System x® server.
The certification information for the possible combinations of Oracle BRM running on Linux on an IBM System z server can be found via the certification folder in the Oracle’s website My Oracle Support.
