Troubleshooting Alcatel5620SamSoapFindToFile Collector

As stated in the introduction of Alca
(1) Change the collector's debug level to level 4 to display the SOAP communication between the collector and SAM 5620. Please remember that by running the collector in debug level 4, it will reduce the collector discovery performance. Only run the collector with debug level for debugging purpose only. If the collector dies with message of "FtpLoginException: Not Logged In", this means either there is no FTP service running in ITNM server or the FTP credentials are not correct.
(2) In making sure if there is FTP service running, users can perform "ps -ef | grep -i ftp" at the ITNM server. If there is no FTP service, users need to install or bring up the service if it is already installed.
(3) If the FTP service is running in ITNM server and the collector still dies with the same message, this is might be due to the FTP credentials issue. Log in to SAM 5620 server and try to FTP a dummy file to ITNM server using the same FTP credentials defined in collector's configuration file. If there are problems with the FTP credentials, the FTP should able to prompt whether it is the username or password issues.
(4) If the collector dies with "Couldn't open file @ <Ftp
FtpDefaultDirectory => '/var/ftp'
FtpDirectory => '/SamDiscovery',
Reading from the parameters defined, the collector will read the xml files at '/var/ftp/ SamDiscovery'. If users do not need to use a specific directory, leave the FtpDirectory field empty.
