New features in IBM Tivoli Network Manager 4.1.1 Fix Pack 1

IBM Tivoli Network Manager 4.1.1 Fix Pack 1 went public (general availability) last Thursday 12 March, with a range of new features and functions.
Platform support has been extended to include SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11, and and browser support now includes Internet Explorer 11 and Mozilla Firefox 31 (ESR).
Discovery has been enhanced, with a new Java collector to retrieve topology data from the Alcatel Lucent SAM 5620, and new discovery agents to support discovery of information from Cisco Nexus family devices and from CheckPoint VSX firewalls. Network Manager can now also discover and model link aggregation information from devices running the Alcatel 5620 SAM EMS. Other discovery enhancements include the capability to define which network interface controller Network Manager uses to access the network, and improved Oracle RAC connection capabilities
Polling and root-cause analysis (RCA) capabilities have also been enhanced. It is now possible to include actual poll data values from an expression within the corresponding event that is displayed in the Event Viewer. In addition, the command-line options for the itnm_poller.pl script have been enhanced. Improved RCA capabilities include the addition of the RCA path tool, which provides the ability to check topological paths between network devices.
