In response to a comment received from "PrimeOne": this solution is specific to OMNIbus Web GUI 7.3.1 because it relies on the Web Widget portlet, which is part of TIP, and is only available in TIP versions from 2.1 onwards. <div>&nbsp;</div> Although there is an "Inline Frame" portlet available in OMNIbus 7.3.1 which can display web pages, it does not have the ability to respond to TIP events for the purposes of dynamically updating the displayed URL.

Hi Steve, <div>&nbsp;</div> First of all, You have written some beautiful blogs which has provided an extended help. Hope you'll keep coming up with some more innovations. <div>&nbsp;</div> I have two queries, let us take one by one, as follows <div>&nbsp;</div> 1. I want to something exactly same. However, when I go to page management utility in on the TIP, it just does not allow me to choose two different portlet, for the same page. Can you please assist over the same ? <div>&nbsp;</div> 2. If I am using the custom table of my alerts database to fetch some information and compose a view. For Example: I right click on an event seggregated based upon their LocationId (i.e events with same location Id) and get all the desired information, which on the contrary can be obtained from the custom table say LocationDetails in the alerts database of NCOMS. Now, is this possible. If yes, How, please suggest ?

Hi Sulabh, <div>&nbsp;</div> Thanks for your glowing commendation! It was much appreciated! <div>&nbsp;</div> In response to your questions: <div>&nbsp;</div> 1. To create a new TIP page with 2 portlets on, do the following: <br /> - in the TIP menu, go to Settings &gt; Pages <br /> - click the New page button <br /> - enter a name and choose OK <br /> - Choose a portlet from the presented list which will then result in the portlet being displayed <br /> - In the portlet header bar, on the right hand side there are two icons for splitting the page - one looks like 2 rectangles next to each other (vertical split); the other looks like one rectangle above the other (horizontal split) <br /> - click one of these buttons <br /> - choose the 2nd portlet you desire in the new frame which appears <div>&nbsp;</div> 2. Querying custom tables is unfortunately not a supported feature in Web GUI. Feel free to raise an RFE for this if one does not already exist. You may also want to try searching the Netcool users group forum as it is possible that some customers have found their own way to do this, perhaps by a clever use of CGI scripts. <div>&nbsp;</div> Regards <div>&nbsp;</div> Steve <div>&nbsp;</div>

Hi Steve, <div>&nbsp;</div> Thank you!! <div>&nbsp;</div> Yes, we are querying the custom tables in objectserver with the help of CGI scripts. If asked, i'll post a procedure to do so. <div>&nbsp;</div> Another fact I am looking into, Is there any way so that we can Bypass the user authorization ? <br /> For Example: There are two user one for RAN another for SWITCH. I have developed a view for Location based correlated events. May be I have events with same location both for RAN and SWITCH. However user for RAN is restricted from viewing the SWITCH events (by the means of Restriction Filters) and vice versa. <br />

Hi Sulabh, <div>&nbsp;</div> Without knowing a lot more about your exact predicament it is hard to comment too precisely, but I would question if perhaps your restrictions filters have not been set up entirely correctly, if they are preventing users from viewing events which you actually think they should be able to see. Maybe that is the best place to start, in terms of solving your problem. <div>&nbsp;</div> Regards <div>&nbsp;</div> Steve

Hi Steve, <div>&nbsp;</div> Thank you for your response. <div>&nbsp;</div> I guess, this can either be done by changing the Restriction filters or By creating a seperate view using CGI script tool (calling CGI scrpts and using CSS). <div>&nbsp;</div> Anyways, If there is some other work around. Please let me know. <br /> We have done it by means of CGI scripts.
