Welcome to the IBM Netcool Operations Support newsletter for Q2/Q3 July 2018. 

 

 

Important Note for TBSM Customers /End Users 

 

On November 11, 2018, certificates that IBM used to sign Java applets provided with IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager 6.1.0

and  IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager 6.1.1 expires. 

Description: 

When opening a IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager 6.1.0 and 6.1.1 application with an associated Java applet , if the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) displays a certificate acceptance dialog, there will be an additional message on that dialog indicating that the certificate is still valid but has expired. Accept the warning and continue work in the application. It is only a warning. The JRE will not prevent the applet from executing.
These Interim Fixes include applet jars signed with a newly issued certificate.

IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact V6.1.1 Fix Pack 5 (6.1.1-TIV-NCI-FP0005) released last quarter will be the last Fix Pack for Impact 6.  Please be  aware that IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact 6.1.x will hit End of Support on 31 Dec 2018 and you should be planning to upgrade to IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact 7.1 before this date.

Became Available on 22 May 2018 addressing many APARs of which the most notable is IJ04144 introduced with Fix Pack 12 and about 
which we issued a warning with Fix Pack 12 and was discussed in the last newsletter

Please note the Known Issues in Fix Pack 13

• ITNMEventListener fails to start, if connecting to ITNM versions 4.2. Currently, only versions 3.8 and 3.9 are fully supported.

• After installing FP13, user will not able to configure new LDAP configuration in a split environment. Specifically on the Impact server side.
No impact to existing LDAP configuration after installing FP13.
