Network Manager: Adding context menus to links (link origin example)

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Network Manager: Adding context menus to links (link origin example)

Body

One of the many configuration options of Network Manager is the ability to add context menus to topology links.

A new article has been added to the Tips & Tricks wiki page that provides a small but fully working example implementation of such a link menu tool.

The example tool provides a topology origin summary from ncp_disco's current topology databases. As this tool makes use of a database table introduced in 4.1 it will not work in versions prior to 4.1.

The article can be found here

Right clicking on the link produces the menu;

Which when selected provides the following link origin summary from the current ncp_disco discovery databases (in this case the link originated from CDP, supported by IP);
