Introducing IBM Db2 Event Store Enterprise Edition Open Beta
I was able to attend the Strata Data Conference last week and what I found everywhere was the prevalence of customers trying to get the most out of Spark and Data Science in their data projects. Every customer is trying to get a handle on the large amounts of information that are streaming into their organization and be able to do analytics on that data as it is coming in.
IBM Db2 Event Store is an in-memory optimized database for event-driven data processing and analysis. It allows for ingest of massive volumes of event-driven data while serving real-time business analytics. Db2 Event Store is built upon Apache Spark and uses the Apache Parquet data format to seamlessly integrate into an open data stack and prevent vendor lock-in.
Since June, we have had a technical preview of Db2 Event Store Developer Edition available which can be easily downloaded to your Mac, Windows or Linux machine so that you can see and try the basic features of the offering. Now, we are announcing the Open Beta of Db2 Event Store Enterprise Edition which addresses expanded enterprise needs.
