Great idea (also for root-password) with one remaining problem to solve: <br /> What if the password-hash has the "/" sign in it?

You should be able to just "escape" the "/". To do this, change it from a "/" to a "\/" (backslash, then forward slash).

I have put updated information at the bottom of the posting with what to do if the password hash has a slash in it.

I usually reset password with hexedit on aix when I had no root access.
