I would like to thank
the Lotus team for providing a really slick
platform with their Lotus Connections application. The Connections
product is the heart of our new offering.. and the quality and features
awesome! I have really gotten to "
Connections over the
past few months, a journey that has led to the discovery of many
different types of user experiences that our new community has to
that is my key takeaway... just how many use cases I can meet with an
out of the box Lotus Connections instance... it truly is an extremely
flexible social platform. I look forward with anticipation to what the
Lotus team delivers next... job well done Lotus team!
would like to thank the team of developers, designers, engineers,
editors, marketing, and strategy folks that actually conceived and
delivered this community. The obstacles that
this team overcame in such a short period of time has been just
incredible. Once again a small agile team, with heart and dedication,
overcame all challenges to solidly deliver.
So... thank you Lotus and thank you developerWorks team..!
It is important to
understand that this community will embrace openness... and is intended
for our users to share and collaborate with each other.. in the true
spirit of web2.0. With that said, we have jump started the developer
community with bookmarks, feeds, and forum entries... but this is your
community... so please join in!
We have also created a
public Activity for members to jointly define a glossary of community terms.
Please contribute by sharing terms that are meaningful to you!
Remember, our community is only as good as its membership, so please
feel free to express yourself and join us.
strength of Lotus Connections... is the ability this platform provides for
people to connect both individually and as a group. With this in
mind... I would like to stress the importance of tagging what your
share with the community. Tagging will allow others to connect both
with you and your contributions.
Another key point I
would like to share, is the importance of building out your profile.
Your profile acts as your electronic persona, and is the central point
from which you express who you are, your interests, and a place to
share links to other communities you may be a member of. Speaking of
your profile... a really nice feature is the ability to find and
connect with your colleagues. Try it!
As you discover
other members of the community, a good way to collaborate is through a
mutual activity. The Activity application allows a
means to share with others. The more verbose among you may want to
start a blog. Both are great ways to connect and share!
in order to keep up with your community memberships, activities, blogs,
bookmarks, and colleagues, use the homepage application. Home acts as
an aggregation of all the applications that make up the community
platform, allowing you to navigate to various points quickly, or simply
see what is new or changed since the last time you visited.
