Does anyone like Rocky II better than Rocky? Superman II? Spider-Man 2? Avatar 2? (oh, I think I'm getting ahead of myself here) It takes an incredibly special sequel to make a winner.
HP issued a press release today announcing new Integrity servers including the Superdome 2, using the new "Tukwila" Intel Itanium 9300 processors. The dreaded and dropped word "Itanium" is not even mentioned in the announcement.
And today a new TPC-H benchmark result was published for the Superdome 2. This result was also not in the announcement. Why would that be?
Maybe because this brand new benchmark result is less than 14% greater than the previous Superdome TPC-H result on old technology?(1) I would have expected a much greater increase purely based on the newer database and operating system versions used in the new benchmark.
Maybe HP has been spending too much time collaborating on Sex and the City 2
