As a new member of the management team, I was forced to take my first staff meeting call from my house, because I was having it painted. Sure enough, right in the middle of the call, the painter had to talk to me. I placed the phone down, and went outside to answer the various questions the painter had for me. I was totally unaware, that during the entire 10 minutes spent with the painter, my dog, who I had locked into my home office, was continuously barking directly into the un-muted phone!

Needless to say, I made quite an impression on my new boss and team!

Thanks Bob, that's a great story. I too have had my dogs join a phone conference on more than one occasion, but not with such a lengthy opportunity to bark down the line. Of course I have had managers who barked down the line, but that's a different story.

Me: "As we solved all the problems and are in monitoring state now, maybe we should move from weekly to biweekly meetings."
Account: "Yes, right. How about Monday and Thursday?"
Me: "I think my definition of biweekly differs substantially from yours."

Its amazing how much our lives have mirrored.... maybe that's one of the things that this tweet fest has shown, how similar IBMers experiences are, regardless of where they are.
