Have yet to get this installed and running on ESXi 4.1U1 cluster. Keeps throwing EventID 255 in the Windows Event Log:

"Caught exception type <class pywintypes.error="pywintypes.error">:(1053 'StartService', The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashiion')

A more generic version appears in the configuration application when you run configuration after the basic installation.

My previous comment did not show up, odd.

So far I've not been able to get this to work in our environment. Reading through release notes it does not mention Windows 2003 R2 as a supported OS. Pretty big over-site if true.

The chief culprit appears to be python related:

Windows Event Logs:

ERROR Caught exception of type <class pywintypes.error="pywintypes.error">: (1053, 'StartService', 'The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.')

INFO Running command '['xpyv', 'C:\\Program Files\\IBM\\IBM XIV Management Console for VMware vCenter\\lib\\web_server\\mysite\\manage.py', 'syncdb', '--noinput']...'

The IBM XIV Management Console for VMware vCenter service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Support ticket open for nearly 4 weeks without so much as a callback. Somewhat annoying as I'd like to have this setup prior to going to 10.2.4.a and implementing VAAI.
